Background

inDinero helps customers take care of invoicing and expenses, payroll, onboarding employees, tax filing and much more. I designed a whole gamut of accounting tools that were needed by inDinero’s financial consultants and bookkeepers to automate this process as much as possible.

CRM

inDinero’s finance team had to deal with a lot of different customers, each with their own individual financial needs. Off-the-shelf systems just weren’t able to keep track of the sometimes very customised financial workflows, so they decided to develop their own set of tightly integrated tools.
Besides the usual customer information fields, we also built a robust shared task management system. Messaging was grouped together with bank notifications in a single activity feed so the bookkeeper can easily catch up on the client’s financial history, and what past transactions were made on their behalf (since it may be a different bookkeeper).
The challenge was to organise all this information on the same page without overwhelming the bookkeeper. In the final design, the most important and frequent functions take up the main content area while the background information is relegated to the side.

Tax Filing Dashboard

This page helps accountants communicate with their clients about the progress of their tax filing. They can also chat about missing documents, etc.

Categorisation Rules

inDinero’s algorithms automatically file transactions into the correct categories. This saves bookkeepers a lot of time as they used to do this manually in excel. Using this interface, they can create rules that determine how the transactions are filed. Ever created filters on Gmail? It’s the same idea.
